Stuck on Al Capitan Setup.

Started installation, after restart installation failed, but I can't restart the mac without the installation trying to complete again.

Just want to start the computer with the current os without continuing directly to installation.

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.4), not sure on exact current ios

If you have a backup, boot to the Recovery Volume (command - R on a restart or hold down the option/alt key during a restart and select Recovery Volume). Run Disk Utility Verify/Repair Disk and Repair Permissions until you get no errors. Then re-install the OS. Depending on how far the installation got, the OS installed will depend on if the Recovery Partition has been updated.

OS X Recovery

OS X Recovery (2)

If that doesn't/won't work, try booting into Internet Recovery (command - option/alt - R on a restart). It is a slow process. This will install the OS that the computer shipped with. You can then try to upgrade from there.
